Job Description

Position summary:

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of facility machinery

Qualifications required:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Journeyman level skills required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic &pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems or PLC programming
    Qualifications desired:

• At least 1 year of related experience

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Install facility machinery and perform preventative or predictive maintenance and troubleshoot and repair any issues
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for all maintenance processes and conduct job safety analyses
  • Program the programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts and ensure transmission of any known issues
  • Complete lock-out and tag-out procedures per OSHA for non-functioning equipment to ensure employee safety
  • Ensure all equipment is properly powered down and locked when not in useNon-essential skills and experience:
  • Maintain orderly maintenance shop throughout process

Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not be limited to: safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots and hard hats. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Snow removal in the winter.


  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted in this environment to maintain safety.
